As we see ourselves heading back into the Alert Levels, please rest assured that we’re working quickly to update our health and safety procedures and keep you informed about the impact on your training.

Exams still running

Under the current circumstances, Aspeq and the EWRB exam centres have reported that they will remain open at Alert Level 3. However, numbers will be restricted.

If you have any exam related queries, or if you are feeling unwell, or showing potential symptoms of coronavirus such as coughing, having a temperature and shortness of breath, or if you have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, please contact Aspeq directly via  04 913 9812 before heading into the venue.

So which courses are open for in-person training at Shift E-tec?

All scheduled practical training will go ahead, unless you are contacted directly and informed otherwise.

Places are restricted, as we need to keep group sizes at a maximum of 10. Preference will be given to those who have existing bookings.

With some courses remaining open, the health and safety of all our trainees and staff is, of course, our top priority. Click here for the full details on all our Health and Safety protocols

Scheduled block courses

If you are enrolled in a block course starting next week, these will still go ahead virtually. You can find out more about our virtual training solutions here.

New Zealand Certificates in Electrotechnology and Telecommunications

If you are a New Zealand Certificate student studying Electrotechnology and Telecommunications, please note that it is business as usual.  The tutors are still available by email and video chat and you should continue your training as per normal.

If you would like to enrol in training for a New Zealand Certificate, you can still do this. Enrolments are still open and being accepted. Please contact Carine Vaccari via carinev@shift.org.nz or 022 568 6671.

What happens if a course is cancelled?

If a course is cancelled as a result of coronavirus, we will let you know immediately and get in touch to reschedule your training. We understand this may be inconvenient for some people, however we believe it is our duty to prioritise your health and safety above all else.

Doing right by our clients

We have updated our policy allowing trainees and businesses to reschedule their training with us for up to six months at no extra cost, in the event that they can no longer attend a scheduled course due to COVID-19.

All you need to do is get in touch with us via admin@shift.org.nz and we’ll work with you to reschedule your training.

What are we doing to keep you safe during COVID-19 Alert Level 3?

Your safety, and the safety of all our staff, is the top priority for Shift E-tec. You can view the full details of how we plan to do this here.

What’s in the Health & Safety plan for COVID-19 Alert Level 3?

Will we keep you updated?

Please be assured that we will keep you updated. This is an evolving situation and it’s important to us that you know what’s happening and how any changes will affect you. If we have any further updates in the coming days, weeks and months, we will be in touch to let you know.
